What we collect, and why

Your order

name, e-mail address, country of payment, the composition of your star map (place, date, time, texts, style), amount, means of payment used and invoice number. Needed to perform the contract of sale and to meet accounting obligations.

Your agreement

the date and time at which you accepted the terms of sale and requested immediate supply of the digital content, with the version of the terms. Needed to prove that your agreement was given before payment.

Your place searches

the name of the place you type in the editor is sent to a mapping service (see below) to find its coordinates. Nothing more is kept than the result in your composition.

Your messages

if you write to us, your e-mail address and the content of the message, to reply to you.

What we do not do

• no cookie, no data stored in your browser: your composition is kept only for the length of the visit;
• no advertising tracker, no social network pixel, no audience measurement, no profiling;
• no font or image loaded from another domain: everything is served by us;
• no selling, sharing or renting of your data.

Who processes data for us

We use processors, strictly for the purposes above:

OVH SAS

hosting of the site, the database and the files of your orders. A French company, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix.

Mollie B.V.

payment processing, in the Netherlands. Your card details are entered on their systems and never pass through our servers.

Brevo

sending order e-mails: your e-mail address, your name and the link to your order. French company.

OpenStreetMap Foundation

looking up a place in the editor. The name you type is sent to their geocoding service from our server, never from your browser, and with nothing that identifies you.

How long

Orders and invoices

ten years, as accounting and tax law requires.

Files of your order

available from the private link to your order for at least three years, then deleted. The composition itself stays in the order.

Customer service messages

three years after the last exchange.

Server logs

twelve months at most.

Where the data is

The site, the database and the files are hosted in France, by OVH. Our processors are established in the European Union. No data is transferred outside the European Union.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over your data, and the right to give instructions on what happens to it after your death. Erasure cannot cover what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices.

To exercise them, write to contact@mycustomstarmap.com. We answer within one month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL: www.cnil.fr.

Changes

This policy may change, in particular when a new payment method or service goes live. The update date at the top of the page is the one that counts.
